I went to a Kubota dealer today and say the B7300. I was just wondering how durable of a unit is this. I have 2.5 acres that were building a house on, right now it contains alot of little brush. I would like to clear it and plant a lawn. Would this tractor be a good choice or would someone recomend a better one. Also how good does the La271 loader work?

Bill, You'll find the B7300hsd to be "tough as as hammer and fun to operate" . The loader operates well ,but, since the tractor has no power steering, you might want to demo one and see if you and the family are able to do the tasks you had in mind. If you're just using the loader for light landscape duties and light material transport it will perform well. I'm an "old guy" that has come to love p.steering at the end of a long day. All the other "B" models Kubotas have power steering. Try it first, it may suit you just fine. If the wife or daughter or grandchildren are going to drive it mowing or doing yard work at your home or ranch, I suggest you take them with you to the dealership for the test drive. You may come home with a beautiful new B2710. We saw that happen three times last week. Good luck and have a restful weekend. ....

The B7300 is a great tough unit. That said it is not an excavator. Land clearing of any sort is best done by a pro with big equipment. Probably cost you $500 for a day with a dozer to do what could take you months to attempt and possible damage to tractor. The bucket on the B series machines can't really excavate rooted soil, its more suitable to dirt that's been carted in and mulch and other presoftened materials.Hope this helps ....

While the B7300 is a wonderful little tractor, I get the impression you may be asking it to do some heavy work.Simply moving up the line (I know that means more $$$) but you will get into a model better suited for the work I think you are trying to do. ....

I have a B7300 that I bought new sept. of 98. I am gettiing along very well with my little unit as long as you realize it's size and potential. I used to be a logger and used equipment in a lot of extreme situations and the 7300 is just a super small version of the same thing. I have used it for skidding logs for firewood and land clearing on my little 3 acre patch with absolutely no problems with it. It was not feasible to get a larger one when after I got the place cleaned up it still is the exact size that I need for the farming and mowing and such. I did builb a small 6 shank ripper for it wich made it an awsome little weapon for its size. I also am a tinkerer of sorts and put a power stearing unit on it from a 1980 Ford Granada (actualy a power assist unit). Works absolutely perfect. Drives like a Lincoln (almost) If you have any Questions about B7300 Power stearing or any of the other mods I have made to the little critter e-mail me. Next project B7300 Turbo ?? ....
